Constant Reboot

Just a few hours ago my DI shut off randomly and started a looping reboot. I took out the battery multiple times, but that does not help. It goes all the way to the droid eye screen and then back to the htc quietly brilliant screen non stop. I doubt there is, but is there anything I can do that might fix this. My phone is rooted, but I am not running any roms and have only used the root for tethering.
, Thanks

I had that issue with a DINC I bought off of ebay. What worked for me and I know it sounds crazy was removing the battery and putting the phone and the battery both over my A/C vent. After about 10-20 minutes it was fine and good to go.

I still get random reboots which drive me nuts no matter what rom I'm running stock or CM7. I might end up taking it into verizon and see if they can do anything. From my research this seems to be a common issue on some DINC and may point to a defect in the design but neither HTC or VZW will admit it.

I am having the same issues. It seems to happen more when the phone is plugged into a charger and it starts to get warm. This causes me to believe its an over heating problem. I will go in to Verizon and see what I can find out.

My fiance's phone is doing the same thing since yesterday evening. I would do a factory reset, but we're trying to find a way to get the data off before we do (no backup unfortunately).

real issues

hi again , for those how said w'll go to Verizon try to git an answer .
you would help many users .

I had the same problem of rebooting, do a back up and a factory reset. There seems to be new updated software on the new download. Phone is working fine and battery life seems better.

to hjc

I already set it once to factory reset and it didn't help .
do you think its only a software issue ?
my software no. is 3.26.605.1 and baseband version 2.15.00.07.28

multiple reboots

Mine has done this consistently since 12/10. It does it more now that it's hot-if it's in the front window w/ just reboot to HTC screen and then cycles until I remove the battery.

Also I've noticed it more in the Car Panel too. When Navigation is active and it's in the cup holder or the center of the vehicle away from the solar light-I can get about 1/2 as many reboots. When it's installed on the windshield holder-aboout 2 to 8 minutes depending upon the day, wx, etc. At night I've only experienced a reboot about 1 per 30 minutes.

VZW, Swype beta, google Voice only 2 apps loaded.

oh, forgot...went to VZW they rec. I do a factory reset. Did that. Wx widget worked again, but phone still rebooted multiple times a day.

My fiance and I went to the Verizon store to show them the constant rebooting. They reset it to factory defaults and said it should be fine now. We went across the street to get gas, and by the time we were done the phone was in a reboot cycle again. Went back over where they ordered her a replacement/refurbished Incredible which she received yesterday.

My Inc used to reboot constantly as well. I noticed it would happened when the phone would get any type of vibration as from itself vibrating on notifications or from vibrating around in my car; so my conclusion was that the battery would fit a tiny bit loose and I guess the vibration would put less contact with the battery terminal?. I put two small pieces of business card paper together on the top part of my battery to push it down onto the terminals. And not a single reboot ever since. Give it a shot.

i have yet to find a rep that knows what the problem is, for me they want me to reset this and that, and it dont work, so they give up and order me a rebuilt phone, im on my 4th phone, same issues as the rest. imma sell this one and get a blackberry storm or something else.

my HTC Incredible is experiencing the same problems. It does it for about 3 hours straight and unupdates apps and causes most of them to not even work. Would i be able to take it into verizon and trade if for a different phone if i paid the difference or just get a new phone in general?

if you are due for a upgrade then you should be able too, but if not then you gotta pay the no contract price. least thats how it was when i went to the store and tried too. my suggestion is look on ebay for a verizon phone you want, it will be cheaper then going into the store. make sure it has a clean esn number tho

so if i just get one off of ebay, i just take the incredible in and have them switch everything to the new phone or what?
