Lock screen / lock delay question - running AOKP

Yes, I'm about to throw out a question and then disappear for a couple of hours...

I'm running AOKP's latest build (29 - 4.0.4), though it was the same on previous builds. Is there no way to make it to where, when my screen goes off, and I turn it back on I have to use the stock ring unlock, and delay the password/PIN? It seems the thing you can delay is the screen actually locking, password or not, and if you have a password/pin, it trumps the ring lockscreen. Hopefully that makes sense... I don't like having no lockscreen, which is what the delay does. But I don't like having to put my pin/password in unless the phone has been asleep for a little while.

TIA... and maybe there's just no way to do it yet.
