Local GPS/Restaurant-Bar App

I recently switched over to Verizon and retiring my iPhone. I've found mostly all the apps I used on the iPhone but there is one I havn't been able to find yet.

There was an app on the iPhone called "Around Me". It was a pretty simple app that pulled your current GPS location and showed you what was 'around' you and would give you directions via Google Maps. I used this a lot while traveling.

I haven't found anything on the market place yet that is similar to this. I may have just missed something. Free or Paid apps would work. Let me know if anyone else has found an app like this.

Superpages (by Yellow Pages) is fantastic and supports augmented reality. Basically you aim your camera and it shows you what is in the direction your looking as you move it.

An app called Where is awesome as well. I use them both.

I just downloaded an app yesterday called "Places Directory." It seems pretty comprehensive and has a place to leave ratings and comments.

There is also layar. Which seems to work well for some and not so much for others.

I've never tried superpages, but I think I'll give it a shot now.

Try "WHERE" it's an awesome app that work about as good as "AROUND ME" app. It's in the Market.

I think "Aloqua" is similar to Around Me as well.

Superpages

I downloaded Superpages today but can't figure out how to get the Augmented Reality function going. I guess this is also known as sightline search. Anyone know how to do this?

Make sure your GPS is on
Hit the Menu key and Location
Select GPS location
Then select the category you want to find (such as Drinks)
Once you get to the listing, hit the menu key and choose "Sightline Mode"
