Listening to music and charging simultaneously?

What happened?

I tried to charge in the car while i was listening to double twist- it stopped.
A message appears stating that I've connected my phone to computer.

The stock music player displayed no music.

PANDORA works fine but nothing on the card.
Is there a way to change this?

You had the same problem that I just posted on a few days ago...You have to uninstall Doubletwist and use the stock music player. I have tested this out on two different DInc's and they both produced the same result. Yes the stock music player isn't as user friendly as Doubletwist, but you have no choice at this moment until Doubletwist fixes this.

Download Uninstaller to remove Doubletwist if you don't already have it.

I am having the problem now though when I am using the Navigation and listening to music, the music player stops when the female voice comes on in the Navigation and it wont start again.

Wow, I haven't seen that one in years.

"They" used to say that you couldn't use the phone when charging. "They" also used to say you had to turn the phone off when charging.

As to the topic, I'd recommend Cubed player (search for "filipe" in the Market), like was being discussed in the other thread.

i really wanna use dt- i better find a good car charger

I really hope i find a car charger that doesn't mount my phone.
i like dt's integration.
it's almost like itunes but more versatile.

i don't want to use a 3rd party app that is one-sided.

IMO- a one sided media app doesn't have a desktop syncing component.

the simplicity of dt and integration is perfect for me.

You have to use the Incredible default dialer (I use DialerOne as my default, and I have to switch back to HTC's).
1. Dial ##7764726 and hit Call
2. click in the box and type 000000 for the password and click Ok
3. Go to Features (says some about "features"?)
4. Go to the cdrom option and select Disable
5. click ok, or do whatever is needed to save and exit.

See if that fixes it?

Wrong using the phone while charging is fine.

Sure you can do this..... But that does not mean it is good for the battery. Using the phone while charging will ultimately reduce the life span and the overall health of the battery. Using while charging increases the heat generated by the battery. This heat increases resistance, once the battery has a high enough total resistance it becomes worthless.
It may not make a huge difference but it will most certainly decrease the "cycles" that you ultimately get out of the battery.

So DOUBLETWIST doesn't like certain chargers.
I was using a usb car adapter and a separate retractable usb to micro usb cord.

with that configuration DT thought i was mounted to a computer.

switching to a traditional car charger solved the problem.

I've been using the AC and DC charging adapter on many of my electronics devices for years while while they were plugged in and in use. Never had a problem with shortened battery life. I've looked back at my unabridged HTC Incredible manual and not seen any warnings about using my phone while charging/plugged in at home or in a car. I have my phone on most every night while it is charging. If there is such a documented issue with using the phone and charging at the same time (using either a AC or car adapter), I definitely would stop this practice. Until then, it is business as usual.

While he is correct, it isn't really significant enough in real world situations to warrant a change in phone-use behavoir.

There are three things that affect LiIon battery life.
1. Time since manufacture
2. Heat/temperature
3. Number of charge cycles

There are "limits" that can change things though. Like a deep discharge that goes so far it drains a cell all the way down will kill that cell. Or extreme temperatures, or prolonged "high" temperatures can also permanently damage the battery.

The problem with a phone is that it heats up. Yes this shortens the battery life. But the phone heats up when you turn it on. It heats up a lot when your using a lot of bandwidth and taxing the processor. It heats up when you charge it. Now, none of these things heat it up enough to cause permanent damage - if they do, something is wrong.
If you want to maximize your battery life - then don't turn on the phone. If you want to rule your devices and not them let you rule you, then use the damn phone as suits your lifestyle. ;) Even if you went ahead and tried to abuse the hell out of the battery - worse case scenario is that you buy a new battery in a year.

No matter what anybody says DoubleTwist works that fine, I am surprised that there are several responses here and nobody has told you to go to the settings of DoubleTwist and disable the "Auto USB Drive" setting. This will fix your issue.
