LG Officially Unveils New Flagship Smartphone, the LG V10; Full Specs & Features

After the G2, I'm steering clear of LG for a while. That thing ran worse with each update and they were slow to get it there. I wasn't real impressed with the G4 and think the UI is worse than TW anymore.

All my opinion of course, others may disagree completely.

I didn't have the G2 but I did the G3 and loved it, one of my all-time fave devices (ranks up there with the DX, Note Edge)...I picked up the G4 and while I liked the device it did not have the same instant effect as the G3 had...

I really like the LG UI cause it has several tweaks built in but like you said it is something different for everyone :)...

EDIT: I did have the G2, I got it a few months before the G3 released and that is what really made me want to try out the G3...but the few months I had it, I liked it and it was rooted / ROM'd of course so that might have helped...

I like my note edge...and I kind of see the processor as their way of preventing over heating...removable battery..and am SD card..I didn't look at the band's though..will it come to vzw? If so..I may jump on this..4 gigs of ram...I bet the new droids won't have these specs...I hope they do cause I love living on fort Knox apparently... Lol..but if they don't compare..this may be my new device..

I had the g2 for vzw and loved it..the g3 the screen killed it for me...the g4 I just all around couldn't get used to...I grew biased to my note edge...which I never thought I'd hear myself say..[emoji106] coming from a moto head

Yes. I saw a tweet from VZW earlier today after this device was announced that said it's coming to the big red network.

That's the other reason I'd consider this. Instead of having to buy my Nexus outright, I could get this on the installment plan and upgrade sooner. But I'm gonna have to be thoroughly impressed to decide not to go Nexus this time.

I liked the G2 at first, it was different and as you said, there are some features in there that were nice but every update seemed to make the device run worse. I do, however, still like the buttons layout on the rear, and did like the change they made to the UI with the G3. I haven't had extensive time with the G3 or G4, just what little time I got with them in the Verizon store so that's not a good base for judgment I admit.

My Note 5 vs my LG G4 - I can see the stutter on the G4 but I don't think I would notice it if I didn't have the Note 5 right next to it doing the same things (I attribute some of that to the 4 gigs of ram vs 3)...

Just don't convince yourself to buy something because it's easier to purchase when you really want a Nexus. I know how you feel though, each new device that gets announced I have to keep reminding myself that I decided this time around I'd go with the Nexus or a near stock phone. Anymore, it seems like you can't lose no matter what you choose.

And I believe if you don't get a good feel for it with some hands-on it probably won't come or at least for me it doesn't LOL...Samsung has started to do some things when it comes to UI like the ability to change themes which helps to customize it to the user...And with the light / dark UI in the early builds of M, maybe Google with eventually release that down the line.

Yeah. This looks like a nice device, but I promised myself. Had I not gone Note 4, it might be a different story. The Note has served me very well, but in ready for Android the way it was meant again. And if rather pay up front for the Nexus & drop the device payment every month. I intend to keep my next device for at least 2 years this time too, so I better sick with my brain instead of my gut. Haha

Yeah, Samsung really has done a nice job with TW the last few devices. I do really like the extra display on the V10 though, more so than the side like the Edge, but again, that's just preference. I just wonder, will the bigger display and secondary display drain the battery too quickly since they didn't increase that capacity.

I'm sticking with this phone for a while as well, and my wife made sure I knew she'd hold me to that lol.

One of the videos I watched said you can choose to leave the secondary display on & you should only see a 5% decrease in battery vs turning it off. I like it too, but unless there's an option to turn it off, but have one push off the power button turn just it on & a second push turn on the whole screen, I think it defeats the functionality of having it always on.

Would be nice if it were a true second screen instead of one screen with 2 controllers. Would make sense to make it e-ink. Then it could always be on with very little battery impact.

I feel your pain. When I was looking at the Moto x Pure, the wife thought I was nuts, so I made a promise to keep it longer & she'll hold me to that no matter what phone I end up getting.

That WILL BE the next big venture in mobile phones...

Customizable, fully functional screens that do anything the others will do and they will be assignable or be able to be turned off.....idk how it will lay out..but imagine..texts up top, weather to the left, any important info can flash across the right leaving your entire screen for you to browse the web or watch YouTube....

I honestly think screens will be the new phone war...maybe even flip out/fold in..who knows..

This thing looks pretty intriguing. I was no fan of the 'G' series devices but I'm digging that 'second screen.' Looks much more useful than the Edge screens in my opinion.
