In case you were interested, but missed Larry Page's recent TED Talk interview with PBS’s Charlie Rose, the above is the full 20 minute video. Page discusses a number of topics from the future direction of Google and Android to his thoughts on the NSA spying and more. It's definitely worth watching just to hear his perspectives on Android and the advances Google is making with Deep Mind, an AI they recently acquired.
It's sometime easy to make some negative assumptions about the CEOs of giant tech companies. What really makes Larry Page unique is his apparent sincerity about actually using the resources of his company to make positive changes in the world. This doesn't mean to suggest that Google is perfect, by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems obvious that its goals are more than just seeking profit for the sake of profit alone. It will certainly be fascinating to see what emerges from the creative minds at Google within the next decade...
