kernels and battery life

I personally have always used P3 Droid LV 1ghz kernels. However after reading many posts about how the stock kernel is alot better for battery life, I've been running the stock kernel. Much better battery life while comprising speed. Any one found a happy medium with speed and battery life from a particular kernel? I'd really like to find something fast/smooth without having terrible bat life.

I've been using the Liquid Frozen Yogurt kernels via Rom Manager. Works fine.

same here, my phone has loved all slayher kernels until the last release. now im using chevy's 1.0GHz LV set at 900. pretty good battery life and super smooth and cool.
