Can anyone point me to a netfilter kernel for wifi tether? I saw some before, but there were like ten and I didn't know what the numbers meant.

The X can't change kernels because of the locked bootloader.

So...is wifi tether incompatible with the Droid X? I tried using it and the speeds were locked at 0.4kb and 0kb up/down, although I will try it tomorrow with people under my network.

The newest version on the market doesn't let you choose who connects. I'm using an older version with no problems.

Because it's illegal and discussion of it is to take place in one thread on the entire forum. This isn't it.

OP, the stock kernel on the X supports the tethering app. Try the one from the link in my sig.
