Jailbreaking iPad

I am a sophomore at a private high school and much to my dismay the school made everyone purchase iPads. I own the the device and wish to jailbreak it. However in the school handbook there is a rule saying: Jailbreaking an iPad results in a less secure device, voids warranties, and is strictly prohibited. I understand that it violates the warranty but the rest is BS. I own the device, so can they force me to not jailbreak?

Thanks,

This is my opinion. First off, rules are rules & its better to be safe than sorry. But if you say its your device, I think you can do with it as pleased. From my experience with one of our ipads, jailbreaking isn't worth the time. Especially when it comes to upgrading it.
