Issue flashing v.08

Hey everybody,

Yesterday, I downloaded .08 from the toolbox over 3G. (I'm visiting my parents for the summer and they don't have internet access. Imagine that!) I remembered to wipe data and cache, and everything seemed to install properly, but I was left hanging indefinitely on that yellow fist. I couldn't get back into bootstrap but i tried standard recovery and wiping data and cache again. Still nothing. At first I thought it had something to do with my themed version of .07 interfering with the update, so I tried again, using sbf to go alllll the way back to .340, applying TBH's 2 part update, deodexing, then intstalling .08 again, all within one session of being in bootstrap after re-rooting my phone with Z4. The same thing happened.

I don't know whats causing this....could I have gotten a bad download due to slow 3G data speeds?

should I go find a wifi hotspot at McDonalds or something and try this again?

thoughts/suggestions please!!!

That has to be a pain, sorry man.

I wish flashable .zips required a md5.txt or something similar and recovery would refuse to flash them if it mismatched.
Much like nandroid backups...
(I know that isn't something we can simply implement, just a random ramble.)

SBF'ed again and now im on .07. im going to try re-downloading this again over 3G, and if it doesnt work, ill do it once more over wifi (somewhere). its so frustrating having to SBF every time this doesn't work GAHHHH

So did you get a good download this time?

lgb-DX-v0.8.zip is 127 MB for me.

You don't have to sbf just to try and re-install v0.8... you can just make a backup of stock rooted GB or even LGB v0.7 and just flash back to it when you want to try v0.8 again. Unless you are getting stuck in the never ending bootloop... then sbf is the only way to go.. Hope you get v0.8 to work, it has been running flawlessly for me.

i was in a situation where sbf was my only alternative. i redownloaded .08 over 3G and what do you know, it worked this time. I swear i've re-set up my phone 20 times in the last week. All is well now, and .08 its running flawlessly. I wonder why these things ever happen to begin with though. this download was the exact same size as my last. :/

on a side note, after running the liberty customizer to make Blur messaging my default, i now have both AOSP and blur messaging apps on my phone, and its making me receive double messages on both apps. D: arrrgggggg!

I'm now having the same double texts issue. I thought I saw a fix for this somewhere, but can't remember where. Has someone figured this out yet?
