Is there direct dial to phone number on Galaxy s5

With Droid X you could program a key on the telephone keypad to dial a particular number on from your contact list. So if I press Number 2, a particular phone number would be automatically dialed for me and so on for the other keys on the keypad.

I cannot seem to find something like this on the Galaxy s5. Is there something comparable?

Try a long press of that #2. You should be able to assign a speed-dial number.

long press on clear spot on home screen>widgets>scroll to contacts>three options [pick direct dial] drag to home screen>scroll to pick who you want from your contacts list> press and they will appear as a direct dial
