Is there a way to have emoticons on the contacts, like the iPhone?

so, i barely switched the the droid and i was wondering if there way a way to have emoticons in the contacts, like my iPhone was able to do.
a simple way of doing it would be nice... and if it's not simple, easy directions that a newb would be able to follow would be well appreciated.
