Is anyone else dropping Verizon when they're contract runs out?

For the thousandth time, Verizon is not dropping your unlimited data, as long as you keep your existing phone and contract you can go as long as you want on unlimited, no one is forcing you to do anything, once your contract expires "like mine has for months now, I am on a month to month basis with Verizon", just pay your bill don't change your plan and you are good to go, now if you want and have the urge for a new toy, you will just have to go buy it yourself, anywhere you want to, and add it to your account with no change to your service. I have made a thread in Android general discussions as to help make it clear how subsidized phones work, and why the carrier's lock you in for two years.

Oh no's....the carriers are goiog to start charging a premium for mobile data, to the point where it gets so expensive that people will only actually use the data when their mobile!

the horror! the humanity!

LOL. If using 3GB per month is a network hog, then I guess so.

if your on a 4g lte phone and have the unlimited plan and use around 5gb of data you are in the top 5 percentile of using the most data on the tower and you ARE BEING THROTTLED.

I have acknowledged that I'm being throttled...that was never in question. I get 0.7 down when I'm not throttled and get less than 0.1 when i am throttled. And if I had 4G in my area, I wouldn't be being throttled. But I only have 3G.

i honestly dont mean to offend anybody. but if everyone got to keep there unlimited data then the network would be so hogged that none of us could do anything. read the fine print. unlimited doesnt even exist. unlimited means unljmited to the point of what verizon can offer. nothing is unlimited. but anyway back on track. i think that verizon NOT offering the unlimited plan anymore shows that they care about there customers. they dont want a slow tapped out constantly needing repaired network. that is what they would get if everyone was on the unlimited data plan. its like trying to fit a square in a circle. the square being all of us using our unlimited data and the circle being verizons network. it just isnt legible. stop complaining and get over it. no unlimited data means we have a reliable un crowded network to use whenever we want to at fast speeds. faster then any other network most of the time. they are doing it for quality. but no matter what they will never be able to make every customer happy. so instead of talking about if and when and instead of threatening to goto slrint or att....PLEASE GO AND USE 60+ gigs of data there and stop crowding us non whiners network. i promise you will be back. like i said sorry if i make anyone mad...but grow up.

You really are naive if you believe Verizon is doing this family share "because they care about customers." And if you even read the thread, 90% of the people upset don't use 60 gigs of data. I'm upset and I use 3 gigs.

Verizon is doing this to fatten their wallets and their shareholders wallets. Nothing more. When these new plans cost at least 50% of customers more money for the same current service, it says the exact opposite of "caring". The world is becoming more data dependent and less dependent on SMS and voice services through the carrier. Verizon is forcing the unlimited voice and texts on new customers and then raping for data. Take off your rose colored glasses and think.

We all knew unlimited would come to an end, but this step by Verizon is outrageous. I don't want to stick around any longer and get forced into share at some point down the road.

You are absolutely 100% wrong...3G is throttled and 4G is not throttled. Verizon can't legally throttle 4G.

Verizon can not legally throttle 4G....it was part of the deal when they acquired the spectrum.

^^this^^
I also know for a fact I'm being throttled on 3G after about 6gb.
Luckily my GS3 is on order & LTE will be in my city by Sept so I'm psyched! I've already got the codes that can change your settings so your data usage is hidden/not reported to Verizon. Gotta love the guys over on XDA! (well, for this type of stuff anyways!) :D
