What happens when my 2yr contract runs out?

Ok, what happens when my 2 yr contract runs out?

When I was with Sprint, when the 2 yr ran out, I was on a month-to-month with the same terms/conditions as the 2 yr, except I could leave at any time without penalty.

Is that the same with Verizon?
Does it affect the unlimited data?
Do I need to renew the contract every 2 years to not lose the unlimited data?

You can continue to go month to month with no changes to your contract.

Edit: I believe that all of the providers have a disclaimer that they can change the rules at any time. I have had the family 500 minute plan through 2 new contracts now, even though it is long gone.

Ok, and as a followup, if I were to get a new phone through Verizon by renewing my 2 yr, I still won't lose the unlimited? Right?

So, it's basically a win-win?

as long as you dont make any changes to your minute or data plan you will keep your unlimited data.

Changing your minute plan won't affect your data plan, so going up or down in minutes doesn't mean that you will lose unlimited data.
