iphone 4g > droid?

I don't understand how you can call something nonexistent better than the Droid...

But, is is probable the 4G will be better than the Droid, after all, it will come out 6+ months after it. However, it will never beat the Droid 2 ;)

Im agreeing with modified the iphone 4g will probably have better hardware that's just the way tech evolves but unless they do a os overhaul instead of just slapping the os on new hardware like before its not going to mater. The point is unless they open the iphone up more and add some true multitasking it would never even be on my list for phones i would consider buying.

Your lying to yourself if you think the droid and 3gs are equal. Opinion aside the droids specs are more impressive. Stand alone gpu, larger screen....I could go on..

in my opinion The "smoothness" of apple's OS is in direct correlation with its limitations. The software on the droid will very quickly match and surpass apple in that area. In regards to the UI, I have had experience with both and the iphone UI is deemed easier by the elderly and the lazy as "better" because if it is not "dumbed down" it is not included. Android attempts to combine simplicity with the option to challenge your expectations of what your device can accomplish. All this without worrying about voiding your warranty. There isn't a non jailbroken iphone in the world that can match the functionality of the droid out of the box.

and then....theres the fact that if you buy an iphone that's it. your stuck with that look and feel until you jail break. android is so open that with the touch of a button my phone can look exactly like an iphone, or blackberry, or WM phone. I doubt jobs will ever be cool with all that.
The majority of reviews (9.9/10) have the iPhone beating the Droid.

Stand alone GPS? iPhone has it, but you have to pay, but its better than Google maps.
As you said will.... It doesn't yet. Which does not help your Droid > 3GS argumrent:
The software on the droid will very quickly match and surpass apple in that area.

Uh with the push of a button you can make your Droid look like a BB or Windows phone without being rooted? I don't think so man. That would mean you are using a Home Replacement app for that. And the only one capable of doing that is SweeterHomes. And I have yet to see one look like any of those well. They all try and fail. Post some links to back up your statements.

And if we are going Non Root v. Non Jailbroken:

Then lets not forget the iPhone beats the Droid in:Apps, Broswer, Music player, Accessory's, Processor Speed, Multi Touch, Shall I go on?

Ok lets start off by stating the current facts of you saying the iphone wins.
Cpu speed: "The iPhone 3GS uses an ARM Cortex A8 processor running at 600MH" - The droid may have a 550Mhz cpu stock but it doesn't mean crap for the iphone if it doesn't even multitask!

Browser: From personal experience whenever i use a ipod touch or a iphone on the web i constantly see the checker box pattern when scrolling a page i have not once seen this on my droid.

Multi Touch: didnt google maps and the stock browser just get updated in the market with pinch zoom? and android does support it next point plz.

Accesories - Unless your a 12 year old girl why would u was some glittery pink case for a ruggedly designed work phone? in all seriusness the droids accesories are their you just need to look.

Music- This i will give you somewhat the iphone music interface is much better ill aggre but is being locked to itunes really worth it?

I am not trying to start a fanboy war here just saying what needs to be said!
Did I ever say the 3GS was better?

CPU speed: The iPhone is more responsive and quicker. The only thing the Droid has on it is multi.

Browser: Safari may have the checkerboard, but is faster, smoother, and has better multi touch. No one in there right mine would say any of the broswers for the Droid are equal let alone better than Safari.

Multi Touch: Maps yes. Broswser no. Learn your facts.

Accesories: If I need something for my iPhone, I can go into 90% of the deparment stores and pick up a charger or case etc.. Can't with the Droid

Apps: The Android Market wont catch up to the App Store for years

I'm sick of people acting like the Droid is light years beyond the iPhone. They are about equal. And its foolish to believe the 4G wont be better than the Droid. That's like saying the new Android Phones will be worse than the Droid. Open your eyes people.

Nothing to see here people, move along. Grey Hawk has not made one positive post on this forum once about the droid, but gets a massive boner once the iphone is mentioned. No sense in arguing with him, it's clear where his priorities lie.

my buddy keeps say this, but the 4g hasn't even been unveiled yet, so what gives?:iphone:
It's called fanboyism. Anything Apple produces must be the best, right? Steve Jobs even said that the competition wouldn't be able to keep up so it must be true. Though to be fair, fanboys aren't by any means exclusive to Apple. A level-headed person would take a wait-and-see approach IMO.

This is true. Yet what is also true is that without the iphone, we wouldn't have the droid, or the android OS for that matter. I'm sure phone devs would have gotten there sooner or later, but apple really pushed the envelope. Now I'm no apple fanboy, but i do like apple products. I love the ease of use of their computers and OS's and I always have. Which is why i own a MBP but i also run windows 7 via bootcamp to access my PC based programs. Show me a PC that will do that!

ANYWAYS, the point of all this is apple does make a great product, i would NEVER trade my droid for an i-phone, but i appreciate what they try do. Nobody can argue numbers, and if you doubt apple, or their products, just look at there sales for 1Q fiscal year 2010...

while they do make great products....I have an iPod Touch, a Mac Pro and I bought my mom an iMac...but I also don't live under the illusion that all things apple are great....I bought the Magic Mouse as soon as it came out and it is a total piece of crap!

lol. this thread is silly

PCs can run Mac OS.

I have yet to find a PC that i can load both OSX and Windows, run flawlessly, and switch between the two as easily.
Why would anyone want to run OSX? Windows 7 is awesome :)

As it's clear you are a naive fanboy.

I prove you guys wrong, you cry foul and try to attack me. Truth hurts? Funny how the majority of phone review sites have the iPhone still being better than the Droid.

But you and a select others believe that ALL the review sites and myself are wrong. As if you know better than hundreds of people who review phones for a living.

Grow up. Just because you own something doesn't mean it's the best thing out there. In my opinion they are equal like I said countless times. But if you honestly believe the Motorola Droid is a better phone than the iPhone, write all the sites and magazines that disagree first then argue with me. I'm done arguing with you and your type. You know you are wrong but just like to argue to defend your purchase. Sounds like a little kid.

I prove you guys wrong, you cry foul and try to attack me. Truth hurts? I have yet to see any review from a credible electronic outlet saying the Motorola Droid is a better phone than the Apple iPhone. Have you? No. The only phone to ever get a better score agaisnt the iPhone is the Nexus 1.

Writing to a site to change a writers opinion leads nowhere. I've used both, Droid wins. If they were equal, I would say equal. I guess if you enjoy being spoon fed things, the iphone is for you, for those of us who are grown up, the droid is for us. You have posted countless times on "issues" you've had with the droid. If you can't figure out how to use it, go get an iphone, you seem to get wet dreams about it.
