"Ok kids! Forget school. We're going camping!"

"Yay! Can we go fishing while we're there?"

"No son. We're sleeping on the sidewalk."

"Are we homeless now?"

"No. We're getting new iphones."

"OMG! You're the best daddy ever!"

Either way, I find it ridiculous. Of course, I'm totally against camping out for Black Friday sales. I'd rather pay more for less hassle and I think it's totally ruined Thanksgiving in some families. Which, to me, is a wonderful holiday for reflecting on what you have to be thankful for, instead of stuffing your face and then running to the store, blinded by greed to buy more crap you don't NEED. But, I digress.

I totally agree.. I would never camp out when I could get the product down the road and at my convenience..

Wow. I'm assuming, when the time comes to buy the phone, she'll go there in person? Would be funny if she used the robot to complete the sale as well and the phone just fell off of it or got stolen on its way back to the office.

Pretty cool that her boss let her use such a piece of tech for something so stupid.
Actually, no. Her plan is to literally purchase the device with the telepresence robot. I have no idea how it will make it back to her, but she indicated she is confident the robot can handle the entire transaction. o_O

If she tried that in NYC or Chicago, I doubt the iPhone (let alone the robot) would make it back to her office.
You'd find a stripped down robot shell in a back alley sitting on a couple of cinder blocks with graffiti spray painted all over it.
