Installing new ROM's

Hey, I have Darkslide on my Droid X and I was wondering what all you have to do to put a new ROM on. I Was thinking You have to take off the old one completely and put the new one on after that. If that's the case, are their any tutorials on how to do it or how to go about it another way if their is any.

Follow link in my sig for flashing ROM onto your phone. They are pretty much all the same. Best thing to do is read the release thread for the ROM of interest. They typically have installation instructions included.
