I read all of the other "importing contacts" threads and none fit this problem.
When I click on the "import from SD card" button it begins to sync. It shows all of my contacts and goes through all 721 of them.
After it finishes, it goes back to the screen that says "You don't have any contacts...."
Note: gmail is synced and I already tried the handy dandy battery pull.
Suggestions?
