Ice Cream sandwich

Ya seems pointless anyway to get the ota when we can have the same thing with a rom

The ota wouldn't be pointless... As it would have an updated ics kernel... Instead of making it work in the ginger kernel...

We have nothing to fear but running out of beer

I wouldn't count on it. Verizon and google have both stated that the lifespan (read: update availability) of all phones is 18 months. Stupid when considering a standard contract is 24 months.
That's to make you hungry to upgrade to the latest and greatest the instant you become eligible.

The release date of the x2 was may of this year, so by their standards I should get it, however I'm sure your right which is fine with me, I'm kinda new to this still, and as much stuff I used to do with all my old Nextel phones this is all new to me, I'm still trying to figure out what the hell this whole rooting thing is, cuz once this phone is out of warrenty I wanna try it.

I talked to a guy in tech at verizon 2 days ago. He went to the ics class the day b4. He said its about 6 months out for the razr update. The dx2 should get it also and be able to run it np all duel cores should.
