i want notifications to turn on the screen....

Hi everyone im trying to figure out how i can have the screen turn on when i get notifications. Does anyone know how to do that or if there is an app for that? sometimes i need the phone on mute so i need to be able to tell that something arrived with out sound and the little notification light is too small sometimes. Anyways if anyone knows how to turn on the screen when u get a notification i would be very grateful.
