I promise I'm not an idiot...(considering losing my Droid X)

Basically....I had a Motorola Droid. Upgraded to Droid X. New Every Two comes in a few months and there are a few things I don't like about the X. I'm not interested in doing anything tech-ish (no offense) like rooting or downloading such-such program to fix problems, but really just looking at other options that have features I want.

My biggest complaints:
-The "hard" buttons on the X. I miss my touch buttons on the Moto Droid
- The camera on the X. So many of my pictures come out looking like my mom's old BB Curve
- The speaker sound on my X. My Moto Droid was (is- my husband has it now) SO loud and I like it.

So....I was *kind of* looking at the Fascinate and the Incredible. Any huge big reasons those would be a NO? Or even better, any better ideas? I really appreciate any help and again, I'm not a moron! :) I know the X is a great phone but there are just some things I wish were different. :icon_ banana:Thanks!!

When you say 'consider losing it' are you talking about committing insurance fraud? Because if you are I want to personally thank you for causing everyone else more because of your flagrant disregard of Federal laws.

Just FYI, fraud is a felony.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Are you asking for a recommendation for your next phone once your upgrade is up? Or are you going to sell your X and get something that's out right now at full price?

As stated before, if you considering "losing" means you are going to report it lost or stolen in order to get a different phone, trust me you don't want to do that. You can be hit with fraud (as stated above it is a felony) and theft, and with the dollar amount of the new phone it too would be a felony.

Now if by losing your DX you mean paying to switch to a different phone I would recommend trying out the other phones to see what you like the best.

I would give KM the benefit of a doubt. Seems like just a play on words...I think he or she was just saying losing the droidx as getting a different phone. Just saying don't think if you were going to "lose" you phone if you meant that would be broadcast for everyone to see..I could be wrong..but I think it's just aggravation at the phone..I know what you are saying also, so don't think I'm naive....just hope this is not the case :)

Others have posted asking what their options were and included in those options were to commit fraud. Whatever her intentions are we are just letting her know paying for a new phone is the best option she has.

If your not getting a phone for another few months....I wouldnt go with either of those. There will be better devices out by then, best bet is to wait until your ready and THEN start looking at the options.

PS- Ya'll are paranoid and reading WAY to much into the title...really dont think he's talking about committing insurance fraud.

If I were you, I'd go try out the Thunderbolt. It looks pretty awesome. The Bionic should be out pretty soon too. Personal Message me if you decide to sell your X. I've been toying with the idea of buying a used one.

When you do try the other phones, make sure and test out the features that are most important to you. You know, take a couple of pictures etc. It's a drag the X is lacking for you. Good Luck!

I'll bet part of his problem with the X is he doesn't understand how to use the camera. No offense OP but do you know how to bring up the menu?

True. There are alot of configurable options...

And (for me anyways) I always get much better pics using the soft shutter button instead of the hard button.

The reason I was trying to figure out if they wanted to use the upgrade or just buy a phone at full retail is because if she's going to use her upgrade she shouldn't be looking at the Fascinate or the Incredible. There will be much better phones in a few months.

I understand !! Just saying that I hope this is not what was meant cause it also has been mentioned, this cost is payed for by us...and was just hoping it was a figure of speech...and you are right to point out the consequences if it was a literal statement..that's it ...

+1 ^^^ to this -- the phones coming out in the next few months will BLOW AWAY those phones. Coming stock w/ Gingerbread, dual-core processors, more battery life, 3D graphics capability... the list goes on...

as cpjr said, wait until your contract is up, THEN see what's out there. :)

+1!!! It took me a long time to realize that the position of the red camera button was causing the phone to shift and my pics to go out of focus. Using the soft button is much more user friendly.

To OP, can I suggest you not automatically refuse to listen to options regarding non-stock, market apps that may fix various issues? I can almost guarantee you will not find "the perfect phone". There will always be at least one thing you don't like. You can fix a lot (without rooting). Root... You can fix even more ;o)
