I got myself an upgrade

And don't know what to do. Like many others I have had the Razr since day one and I of course love it. Now when the Maxx came out I thought it would be nice to have a bigger battery and still have a fairly skinny phone, but was not going to pay full price for basically an extended battery. My wife and I added another line to give her dad a cell phone since he has none and he just lost his long time girlfriend to cancer. So we went to the Verizon store last night and just activated an old LG phone on a third line to give to him so he will have it if anything ever comes up.

Now the question is, do I take this upgrade we have on our new line and get a Razr Maxx and give my wife the OG Razr and sell her Droid Pro. Or do I wait a bit because as soon as I get the Maxx they will announce something bigger and better. Does anyone have any scoop on a new phone coming out anytime soon? I know they have been talking about the Galaxy S3 but that isn't coming to Verizon right? Anything big rumored to be hitting Verizon later this year? If I buy the Maxx and I can be ok with that till next April I have another upgrade coming. Any suggestions?

I have the MAXX and would suggest taking it given what I see on the horizon. We'll never keep up with the "next phone" anyway.

My MAXX is stout. Its well built, great feel, glitch free and smooth. Of course stellar battery too. I am unrooted and love it out of the box.

Good luck with your decision.

Sorry to hear about his girlfriend's death.

If you like the Razr then you'll love the Maxx. I've been getting 36+hrs. (as much as 48) battery on the max with average useage for me. IMHO, there will always be something bigger and better on the horoizon but the Maxx has set the bar for what comes out next in regards to battery life.

And many of us RAZR owners are jealous of you guys and gals... :(

If your going to stay stock then yes the razr maxx would be a go to device but if you want full control how you use your phone then the galaxy nexus would be hands down the better phone for some reason vzw has moto by the balls and they wont stand up for themselves

Yeah I think I am going to order the Maxx today and give the Razr to my wife. She will be more than happy with that bad boy coming from the Droid Pro, and I know I will love my Razr with even more juice than I get now.

Got to laugh, ordered the Maxx this AM and just saw this :)

uess I will need to keep an eye out while I am still in my 14 day.

Yeap, saw that today as well, i actually upgraded from the regular razr. The maxx is everything i wanted..... untill my next upgrade that is...:)
probaly been mention a million times before, theres always gonna be something bigger and better on the horizon. i got caught up in the mixx as well. Had over a dozen smart phones in the past 2years, and finally found the phone that works fo me! great build, smooth OS, and the battery life is just awesome! Great all around phone, lock or not.

I'd wait for what's up and coming. The MAXX is probably the best you can get right now, but the Galaxy Note is better (in my opinion) and should be coming to Verizon. Then we'll have those sexy quad core A9s and dual core A15s. I know there's always something better, but I'd still wait for whatever's next. Get that and then don't look at tech news for at least 6 months.
