I read an article advising us to encrypt my data. I encrypted both the phone and the sd card. Everything was working fine, besides the fact that I had to always enter my secure password.

A couple days went by and I powered my phone up like usual after the battery lost charge.

It would not accept my password.

After several attempts, it gave me a message saying encryption failed.

The phone prompted me to factory reset.

After resetting my sd card remains encrypted.

How can I decrypt my files. About 6 gb on my 64 gb micro sd card

Unfortunately, you are likely out of luck. Most encryption on phones use the phone's ESN (electronic serial number) along with your pin or password to create a unique encryption key. That key will never be duplicated, so unless you've backed up your data, it's lost for ever.
