ok, please don't crucify me on this. I know the answer is out there, but i couldn't find it quickly.

I have a non root phone, and need http and https tether access tomorrow. I would prefer a free program, even if it's a trial. I've seen both pdanet and easy tether. Can anyone please tell me if either of these would work for me tomorrow? If so, I will DL them tonight to test.

The easier the program is to use, the better for me.

Thank you

Not sure. With pdanet, you have to pay for https. Most likely easytether lite will still be working after 2 hours.

last I recall pdanet is a 30 day trial, during which time you can use https. but I haven't used it in a few months so things may have changed. After the trial period, https stops working, but traffic that doesnt depend on ssl encryption can still work.

pdanet is a free app where you can use it for as long as you want. if you want https, then you have to pay $10-20, i don't remember.

Hi, I'm new, and a bit confused by all of this. Are you talking about using your Droid to get internet access for a laptop? That is what I am looking for, and I have NO idea which direction to turn. I'd like to be able to use it occasionally, but I don't want to pay an outrageous fee to only use it once in a while.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
