HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

I really hate to bust anybody's bubble, but I've only been with Verizon (this time around) for about 6 months now, and if there is one thing I've learned, it's that you can take them at their word, and they like to play with words.

For instance, The 2.2 update for the Droid X was "Summer" You know when it released? September 22nd... the LAST CALENDAR day of summer. That's right... even when the commonfolk had closed the pool and started to don hoodies in the morning, Verizon patted themselves on the back, because they made their date.

Follow me here for a minute. Verizon's only official communication on this device is "Q1". Verizon releases phones (most often) on Thursday. I'll spare you the hunt for a calendar. March 31st is both a Thursday and the LAST DAY of "Q1"

This company craps all over their customers with encouraging words, and then jerks them around until their dizzy, and then pats themselves on the back because the did what they said they were going to do. I would be willing to bet a $10 gift card to the restaurant of your choice that we don't see this vaporware until March 31st.

we just need to be patient.. the only people giving dates are the forum people and rumor blogs.. im with you guys, i want this in my hands now.. but ill will gladly wait til the thing is flawless network-wise and OS-wise..

so if they meet their deadline they are treating their customers wrong?

I'll use an analogy I've used before. Your (Serbeus) car breaks down. You really need to get to the Pharmacy tomorrow to get Grandma's medications. I (Leehblanc) notice that I live in your area and I tell you I will give you a ride to the pharmacy tomorrow (2/23/11). I show up at 11:59:59. The pharmacy is closed, and Grandma goes into a diabetic coma. Not my fault. I kept my word. amirite?

Just got back from BB and the manager confirmed that the thunderbolt has been pushed back and has no set date to launch but it will not come out on thursday when I asked why he said that HTC told the company to hold off on sales until they release a date which most likely will be in march

true but picking someone up and releasing a phone are not the same thing. Sorry but not the same thing imo

Yes, but they also said this:

"Many have waited for the Verizon #iPhone. Some looking for the #4G #LTE HTC #Thunderbolt. May be sooner than we expected!"</SPAN>

My boy at VZW just confirmed what the people at BestBuy told me. The 28th...

Too bad I can't get a BestBuy though. Would love to use my cc for no interest no payments....but apparently BB cannot do 1 year contracts...have to go through VZW for that.

Considering how pissed off I am I feel really bad for people who have been following this phone longer than me. I just started this month and I know people have been since last year. This is BS!

Since 9/2010... yeah im pissed to.. get your hopes up and then have them smashed like nothing.. i know nothing official has been said so who am i to expect something right?

well considering there has been absolutely nothing exciting since the DX mid 2010 i expected something alot sooner.. the fact we waited this long for a 2nd gen 1.0 GHZ is disheartening considering the 3G version was going to have 1.2 GHZ but w/e i just want something thats 4.3 and fast at this point..

at least i know this time next month i will have the phone but still its a pain in the butt big time waiting for this thing when it will be outdated in a matter of months on verizon and as of today already is outdated if you consider other carriers..

I was hoping to have the best phone on the market for at least a week geez.. lol

I totally agree. For me, it's the principle. Their last official announcment on this phone was January 6th, unless you count the "sooner than expected" tweet, which was ridiculous since we didn't know when to expect it in the first place.

I think they are not releasing it because of the xoom I just dont see them releasing two devices on one day. I would think for there 4g phone they would want a separate release for the two. I have been saying this for over a week that they would push it back because the release date for the two just wouldnt work. Its just smarter to release on a different day.

Ok...then let me go one step further.
If you actually waited that long, (11:59:59) then shame on anyone.
If this phone is somehow hampering your life or causing you angst, sleeplessness, poor job performance, hives, rashes, etc....go with another carrier and another phone.

Sorry, I had someone very close to me die from complications of diabetes, so that struck a chord with me. I know you didn't mean it that way...but it did nonetheless.

We're talking about a cell phone. Not the only one out there. Not the only carrier out there.

How's that lawsuit coming along, by the way?
