HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

I'll repeat. Verizon said Q1 of 2011. It is Q1 currently, and will be until April 1, 2011.

"May be sooner than we expected" doesn't mean that it should have been out by now or in the next week. Maybe they thought mid to late March as most sources originally said, so earlier than that is "sooner than expected."

Ooo, you're right, I had better call Verizon and apologize because it sounds like I hurt his feelings...

How do u explain the feb 14 bb date? Do u think bb put that out on their own without verizons input? No offense man but do you work for verizon or something.Im a big fan of verizon too but they have been awful in dealing with this phone's release

It's just a phone people.. Pop open a cold one, sit back and relax. Your shiny new bolt will arrive shortly.

Dropped by a Verizon Store tonight (Corporate store)...

1. No new news.
2. The sales guy I talked to wants one too.
3. He actually touched one a week or so ago. Said it was very nice.
4. He said "Yeah, typically a Thursday release makes sense, but I think we would have heard by now..."

So after that exciting bit of news.........

Says the guy with a droid x, not a storm 1 :(

I dont have a droid x anymore. I returned it in favor of the bolt. I was also using my storm 1 with a cracked screen up until a couple of days ago.. I am on a loaner fascinate for now...

If it comes out by the 28th at the latest, ill be happy.Anything after that i will not be.I know its just a phone, but its a badass phone!

Does anyone know if Best Buy is willing to extend the free buyback if this phone is not released before the 26th? It was really the only reason I was going to get this phone.

I'm going to take the BB advertisement from the paper up there tomorrow, and ask where my pre-ordered Bolt is, and when they tell me they don't have it yet I'm going to try to get a free case or screen protector out of it. I'm not a charity, and I'm not in the habit of giving out temporary loans of indefinite duration to major corporations so they can collect on my interest.

Now, while an advertisement is not an offer to contract that becomes enforceable upon acceptance (unless it gives a specific date, quantity term, and who can accept the offer, eg. "First come, first served, on 2/20, while supplies last"), the Best Buy ad is at least deceptive and misleading because it implies they will be available for sale tomorrow (says "new," has a price term, but no date, no language about a pre-order, does not say "coming soon"), and I'll claim that I drove all the way over there in reliance on that advertisement and require some sort of restitution for their failure to produce. We'll see what happens.

Don't do the BB buy-back program, I know it sounds like a great deal, but it's a rip-off. Sell the device on your own on eBay when you are ready to upgrade again next year, and you will make/save a lot more money that way. Unless you are doing it just for the convenience of being able to exchange it and get a new device at the same time, in which case go for it. Several BB employees have said that they will extend the program if you pre-ordered, or if they don't have the devices in by the 26th, but this may not be the same across the board so I would check with your particular BB.

Any financial professionals out there care to take a stab at the potential interest earnings of Best Buy's $50 pre-pay for 14+ days.....(no way to know their total number of pre-buys) 1K? 5K??? Just curious!
