HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

I have a question about the recent screen shots... does skype not being available right away mean that they are holding off on the phone too? I don't really undersdand if that feature is pushing the release of the phone back or if it's just a delay in what the phone can offer right away?

Yeah I'm only doing the buyback because it's free. No way I'd pay for it. Since Verizon changed their policies on annual upgrades, I see the buyback program as a way around it, and since its free, why not? If I can't do the buyback I may wait on a new phone, or just sign a 1 year contract.

Maybe I spoke too soon about the advertisement, I just read that Best Buy is issuing a correction to it (probably to add "coming soon" or maybe even an actual date, if I had to guess, to cover their butts). I suppose we will find out in the morning if it got in there in time or not before the papers were printed and distributed.

And I called the buyback program a rip-off not because of whether it is free or you have to pay for it, but because BB will not give you nearly what your phone will be worth on the open market at the time you are ready for a new one. I also initially saw it as a way around not having an annual upgrade or not being able to do 1 year contracts at BB, but I have since reconsidered. But I guess if it will still be free, you might as well sign up, you can always change your mind and go another route later down the road and sell it on your own.

I know we have no concrete evidence to answer this question but I'm asking anyway. I'm considering trying out the iPhone4. For reasons I won't get into here I'm thinking about eliminating all uses of Google products and services.

I had the first iPhone for about 90 days. One of the reasons I got rid of it was AT&T. I want to have the option of returning it for the T-Bolt should I decide to continue using Google.

take it for what it is but word from the usual leakers of info through twitter is they will be at Verizon 9am 24th bolt in hand..

Anyone else feel like they've gone through the stages of facing death with this release? Anger, denial, etc. I've thrown and few pissy comments in here and now I'm at apathy. Tried out a desire 4g or whatever the att ver is called and I wasn't impressed. Too big for me I think I would prefer something at 4in. Think I might wait for the bionic or atrix now.

So you are either going to eliminate all of your ties to Google...or sign a contract with a Google phone that uses just about every Google service available? Sounds like you are very conflicted.

Sometimes no news is good news. The day this thread gets locked for good will be a glorious one, indeed! Hopefully it will be by the end of this week and we can move on to a whole new set of issues regarding this phone (eg. rooting, customization, overclocking, accessories, favorite features, etc.)

The suspense is killing me!!! I hate this Dare lol. the touch screen only works when it wants to- most of the time i have to voice dial people to communicate I hope the TB comes soon or I'm going to have to pass on it

That definitely can't be fun. I had the dare as my first phone,I went through 4 in 3 months then downgraded to the alias 2 after getting fed up. Those things are a joke, and why I'm scared to trust another LG phone, android or not.

The same group that kindnapped the people that were suppose to send froyo ota to my fascinate months ago.

I thought the TB was dual core? am i mistaken? anyways if it isjust a single core is anyone waiting for the bionic over the thunderbolt because of this? but honestly it won't change my views on the fact that the TB is a better phone than the bionic (aestheticly speaking its sexier and its running sense rather than the subpar motoblur. even though launcher pro or ADW or even GDE will fix that...but i can use that on the thunderbolt as well...and it has an unlocked bootloader just in case i decide to root and rom my phone which i haven't done yet but having the option there is another reason i think its better...) so it will be just fine and dandy for me. when I get this phone I do not see it becoming "obsolete" or even "not as good" as other phones are until about a year or so from now...

Does anyone know if Best Buy is willing to extend the free buyback if this phone is not released before the 26th? It was really the only reason I was going to get this phone.
