HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

As of right now, the Thunderbolt will be released this month, (these words come directly from a reliable source who knows and will be unnamed) the street date for Best Buy will be the 21st for most BBs and the VZW date will be the 24th as far as right now, do you know what I think? You guys all rebuked Miami for when he said it might b released on the 28th and now look at you all

So I just called my local BB in Pittsburgh and they said the phone definitely got pushed back to Feb. 28th so that they could add something to it which is a "surprise". He sounded so excited. My guess is that it's just skype support.

First of all, I don't believe that the BB employee knows anything more than you or I do about why it's delayed.

However, it does sound like they are trying to make some last-minute changes/additions to the software before its released. I don't think it's a hardware issue since they already shipped the phones from tiawan. I know I read somewhere that the phones won't come pre-loaded with skype but will rather have an icon on the home screen that will allow you to download it or it will tell you it's not available yet. I think they want to avoid not having skype on launch day and that could be a reason for the delay.

Another thought I had was that they are trying to add VoLTE to the phone. Does anyone know if that is a software update or if that requires special hardware? They've been making a big stink about that technology lately.

Sorry to just be speculating here, but I feel like that's all we can do until we get an announcement from vzw.

Pretty sure you might be stuck with that card, unless of course you mean returning it to them to purchase something else with it.
