HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

20th, or 21st! Not 24th. It wouldn't be because of the ad. I think BB could get sued if it was false honestly.

Everyone hates it when I suggest this but it's looking like BB may sell it a few days before vzw. Look at the evidence: 1) a BB ad for this Sunday, the 20th, say new and not "coming feb 2x"; and 2) a leaked shipping invoice for a vzw store has a delivery date for the 23rd.

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is so impossible. It's not like people who buy phones at BB aren't going to still be paying gigantic monthly bills to vzw.

Based on today's new evidence, i'm putting my money on BB this Sunday and vzw on Thursday.

Coincidently, I just now received a text message from VZW alerting me that my early upgrade is ready when I am. I called the number in the text and told her I'm interested in the TB. She breathlessly cooed that she also is wanting the TB but it's being delayed. She said at least March and she's hearing late March. Yes, I take it with a grain of salt even if she is the voice behind their upgrade program.

Funny thing was she said I could use either a one or two year contract for my upgrade and that's the first time I've ever heard one year contracts could be used on an early upgrade. Sure wish i could have upgraded with her right then and there!

Atrix is on sale feb 22nd. Their network may suck but at least they keep the ship sailing smoothly big red. Granted the Thunderbolt is the first LTE device, I feel like this launch should have gone smoother. If ATT had decent coverage here I would be jumping ship immediately. But I'll still be here waiting on the Tbolt and keeping my BB preorder just in case they get it first which I highly doubt.

I wouldn't believe anything from a girl on a Verizon upgrade line lol...

I think it's pretty clear the release date is the 24th or earlier.

Even though there has never been an "OFFICIAL" announcement all of this back and forth is very discouraging.

I just got a replacement D1 in warranty so I can take some time to root it and see what new ROMs are out there.

I don't really want an iPhone but I'm being tempted by the wait for the TB. I had the first model iPhone for about 90 days. Hated AT&T and didn't really care for the restrictions on iOS. But being a photographer they have some really good photography apps and syncing with mobile me and my computers would be a plus. My wife can access pretty much anything she wants that's on our iMac.

Trying to hang tough during the wait.

why does this only seem to be a problem with verizon? I mean really we pay the overpriced plans for "the network" whatever Atrix is announced, if it drops before my beloved TB I'm jumping ship!

Well I priced out the Atrix on AT&T. Comparable plans to my VZW plan will cost me about $25 more a month on AT&T and they have a 4GB data cap on the Atrix.

So much for Verizon's overpriced plans.

Cracks me up every time someone on the thread whines that they are going to another carrier because some random person said the phone's been delayed and some site runs with it. All signs point to very soon. Anyone who jumps ship to AT&T will probably regret committing to that crap network with their pseudo-4G.

Ugh, just went to BestBuy and they said if the phone comes out on the 24th, and I'm on vacation and can't pick it up until the 28th - then I cannot get the free Buyback. I can't even pay for the phone ahead of time or anything. If it comes out on the 28th - then I'm also screwed because the free Buyback program ends on the 26th.

Sounds like I'm going be cancelling my pre-order and getting a 1-year contract from Verizon.

it just gets old its the same crap everytime big red announces anything... we have it but we wont tell you when you can have it, I mean really, this phone has been in development forever... if it wasn't ready then don't say it's coming... I really can't believe all these delays are apple related
