Qualcomm announces next generation Snapdragon chips | Android Central
Qualcomm Introduces 2.5GHz Quad-core Mobile Processors, Holy Sh*t! - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
How about skipping dual-core altogether and going straight to quad-core after the Thunderbolt sometime in 2012? Sounds good to me.
exactly what i was thinking. let them work out all the dual core bugs and perfect it for the quad core!
Very interesting. You've been able to do that email signup thing for awhile now, but VZW making a new page for it is surely another good sign of impending release. Before, when you typed in "Thunderbolt" on VZW's homepage it would take you to the LTE page, now it has that separate lightning bolt page.

thats what I thought as well - I mean, if they created a new page and made it live, it really must indicate that at least an announcement is coming in the next few days, or hopefully hours.
I wonder who will have the first quad core out Nvidia or Qualcomm.. better yet has anyone heard mentioning of a quad core chip being used in a mobile phone, everywhere i read i remember mobile device and when they beat around the bush im almost thinking those will be in tablets first and phones some time after
if anything there has eventually got to be a size limit just with battery alone for something like that my roomates i7 is clocked at 2.80 (low for a quad core cpu i know but still) that is only .30 less than that of an average pc today.. thats insane and really going to be impressed if they fit that in anything 4.3 or less..
excited none the less and will be happy to wait with the thunderbolt if i have managed almost 1 year and 4 months with the OG droid but i have a feeling by this time next year or even this time next year plus 6 months i think we will have insane dual core phones and quad core tablets imo..
