even if he dosent rip you off, whatever date is on there could have been an old one that has already been pushed back. dont waste your money

I wasn't worried about getting ripped off. eBay and PayPal protect buyers. I was worried that all he was going to tell me was what I already knew (ie. the date used to be the 14th, but it got moved to the 24th).

WTF! Weird! I just sent that guy selling it a message. On the box, it says "see Merchandising Communication for launch dates." I'm going to see if he will tell me what it says or not. I'll post back in here if he replies to me.

I got another response from the ebay guy trying to sell a dummy phone and some shrink-wrapped merchandising materials (which contains the launch date). Here's what he said:

invoice...I have a few people interested..
Anyone can make me an offer ...let me know soon

So there you go, anybody interested in knowing for sure can
pay to see the date. I'm just going to be patient until
the 17th or 24th. Don't think the 14th is gonna happen at all.

What I got of this and everything else is it's defiently coming this month and it's very near. I'm starting to think official preorder tomorrow and launch the 17th. I don't see Verizon launching the Motorola Xoom and HTC Thunderbolt both on the 24th.

Don't know what to think

I just spoke to the BB that I preordered my TB from. The guy says that he believes that the phone was pushed back to the 24th and that he doesnt't have any as of yet in the store. I am #4 on the list and he is number 7 as he wasn't sure that he wanted that particular phone and he preordered a little later on. He sounded as impatient and perturbed as most of us here. He believes that the demand for the phone was greater than anticipated and they had to upstart manufacturing again.. He also felt that those that didn't preorde may have to wait a few weeks to get theirs due to limited supply. Who the heck knows.
I wonder what the Las Vegas odds are on the launch date. Does anyone know?

I just called VZW to veriy my early upgrade date was tomorrow and asked about the TB release date. Rep told me she had no idea. I can't believe that they don't what the date is. They are just not allowed to say. It doesn't make sense to me that they can't tell us a date..but oh well. A couple more weeks isn't going to be a big deal.. I am still on the fence anyway-do I get the TB now or wait for the Bionic to come out.

That's the first time I actually saw that commercial because it got taken down. I remember people were trying to make sense out of the numbers (adding them up). She was just counting like when you were a kid and were seeing how much closer the storm was getting (ie. count from lightning strike, the sooner you hear thunder, the closer the storm is getting). Hint?

I just called my BB in perrysburg, ohio and they said that I am #4 and the are expecting 20 phones tomorrow? This was after I was told friday that it was pushed back to the beginning of March? Keep in mind... I just spoke to the 'mobile manager.' What in the world??

With the ho-hum specs of the TB, each day its delayed is another day closer to EOL....

Seriously folks, with those specs, why is there so much interest here? 4g? HTC Sense? I'm curious why more people aren't waiting for a true next-gen phone with all of their dual-core goodness?

I think when iPhone 5 and Bionic are out, the TB becomes an Eris.
So, you'll have 3 months before obsolesence.

I have a Voyager. I don't need to have the newest thing, so after the TB I don't think I'll buy anything for a couple of years. It's great for my needs.

Aren't there 2 more LTE device before then, as well? Can't remember, but there were 3 at CES, and LG and a Samsung? Can't remember if they were dual core or not, I think they were.

The LG and Samsung were not dual core. Those two phones are really gonna be way behind when they come out if the Thunderbolt is only just now about to come out in the next week or so. Verizon should have gotten the LG Optimus 2X instead of the Revolution.

Thanks for the refresher. They are probably trying to fill price points. If we start with the TB at $249 with 2-yr contract, the Bionic will probably be $299 and perhaps the LG and Samsung will be $199, same for the TB before long.

Im with you, I have an LG Dare, this will be my first smartphone, I could honestly care less about most of the specs, if it wasn't for the possibly of getting 4G for the same price, I'd be getting a X tomorrow
