I don't think people are giving up, just waiting it out. Its getting ridiculous @ almost 2100 posts. I can't believe I have read all of these lol.

Woohoo 2100 posts!!! I know I'm sad. I just bought my X in december but I keep having issues and I want to lock in the 4G pricing. Anyway back on topic. I went to my BB here in Jackson MS and they didn't even know what the TB was. Now that's sad.

Me too, and the last 2 threads that were shut down on this same phone. What a ride. Can't wait to get my hands on it. But here's something interesting you guys might like.

And I just thought of a theory, for what it's worth, that I have not seen mentioned on here yet. We saw the Best Buy advertisement today on Droid Life that showed the Thunderbolt for $250, which allegedly will come out with this Sunday's paper, on the 20th. It did not say "coming soon," it did not mention a "pre-order." This leads me to believe that the phone will be available and in stock for outright purchase (or pick-up if you already pre-ordered) on or before Sunday 2/20 at Best Buy (maybe not Verizon stores). Thus, a release on the 14th or 17th is still possible at BB.

Perhaps VZW wanted to wait & see the hysteria around iphone release. Seeing that the expected madness did not happen, maybe they'll announce the tb sooner than later!

I, for one, am sitting tight for the February 24th release. That way, I can compare the 2-year price of the TB at BB, VZW, Amazon, and WireFly on the day it actually releases.

Let's look at the bright side... the two weeks (or more) we would normally wait for root and s-off have gone by while Verizon has had their Apple, er... I mean THUMB up their @ss.

I just sent a FB msg to my best buy asking when I could pick it up and they said 10am on Monday the 14th.

OK... stopped by the Paramus, NJ BB store that tweeted/facebooked about the Thunderbolt. Went right at 10am open.

Spoke to two different people and (of course) got two different stories:

1. Woman (who I thought worked in the mobile dept) went and checked and came back with "Released on Monday, 2/14 for people who had pre-ordered." I then asked if they had them in the back since, I would assume, they would have to be to make them available on Monday. She said - I don't really know. I smacked my palm against my forehead (in my imagination) and went on to... person #2

2. I went to someone in the mobile dept this time... "Don't have a firm release date, but should be 'any day now'." We went back and forth and he said he expected it before the end of the month. He seemed frustrated at the whole thing.

I didn't have the heart to try and speak to somebody else. I guess I will call later. Note that the BB in Paramus, NJ is closed on Sunday (local laws).

My conclusion is - they don't know - and may end up selling it on Monday for all they know --- or Thursday or 2/24.

Also... THIS Sunday's BB ad does not have the Thunderbolt. It features the Incredible (and the Inspire and EVO) on the cover - and a few others inside. Also - they buy back program is prominently featured.

I just spoke to someone at the phone center and was told that it should be this monday. Whether I get one is depending on how many the store receives and what number my preorder was. My @#$% luck they will receive one less than my number if they receive any at all :icon_evil:

Not to put a dark cloud over you but I was #1 at the store I pre-ordered at. You should call or stop by the store and ask what number you were.
