Change carries just because a device isn't released? That just sounds absurd...

Function over Form anyday.....

No it doesn't , I switch carriers every year when it's time for an upgrade . In my area I get similar speeds with ATT , VZ , Sprint and T-Mo so why should I wait 6 months for a striped down version of a Dual-Core phone when I can get an Optimus 2x from T-Mo or Atrix 4G from ATT next month , maybe even an HTC Pyramid .

Yeah Verizon is barely more expensive than anyone else, but they make up for that with a huge 3g network and some of the best phones available. It's a damn shame Verizon and Apple agreed on something, but Apple is greedy, they'll have Sprint before long, maybe not t mobile but Sprint is certainly next on Apples "to ruin" list......

As for throttling, all the more reason ti get the TB and 4G ASAP.

I think it comes down to the OS on the device being able to take advantage of the 2nd core... until we hear Google come out and say "Android 4.3 Chocolate Chip Cookie will be able to use two or more cores..." then buy what can be used today...

Anyone who thinks 2 cores won't make a difference using Froyo needs to read through this article: LG Optimus 2X & NVIDIA Tegra 2 Review: The First Dual-Core Smartphone - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News

Froyo can take advantage of 2 cores - it may not be optimized for it, but it can certainly give a boost, especially when running more than one app at a time.

I'm still getting the Bolt (assuming it comes out in February) - because I want LTE speeds and I don't want to wait for the Bionic. Not to mention, I don't think you absolutely need the 2nd core - but it does appear to make a difference, even with Froyo.

Call me naive but Miami... how should I put this.... does anyone know if this guy isn't really a fifteen-year-old pulling our legs? If he works for Verizon how does he know things other Verizon employees don't? And the way he says things, just in this thread.

LOL ... I've been following and trusting Miami since the Dinc launch. You have no idea how much you just made the people that are actually "in the know" laugh with this statement.

Preordered mine last night the sales lady opened up the employee news letter online and it showed a hard release date of Feb 14 (Subject to change) and a price of 249.99. I hope the date stays the 14 I sold my D1 and have to ship it out on the 19th.:icon_eek:

Interesting -- I was told $199.99, which I recognize is different from the $249 rumors; maybe the BB rep I talked to was smoking something...

I still think that we need to give the iphone its day in the sun (like today and the rest of this week). then we will be able to infer just how contractually bound VZW is to the Apple legal machine.
