HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

My upgrade is on the 26th! And I went from my 4th Moto Rival to my old enV 1! Perfect timing huh? All these old 3G phones about to reach EOL soon and no thunder forecast either!

Well currently there is no 4G coverage in my area so I won't have that capability when I get this phone but all the other features will be great and have the latests in chips and 756 RAM speed of I'm convinced will make a HUGE difference. Which makes me eager to see CNETS prize fight on the TB vs. BIONIC to see if the dual core is really faster or if the extra RAM in the TB will compensate well as far as speed goes.

I almost have 4G. From CES videos the bionic looked slightly unresponsive, notmto mention Froyo isn't geared for dual core optimization. Oh and Isn't it supposed to have DDR2 RAM? Which seems better hardware wise and not size. But! HTC sense is way better than blur, and all the other bells and whistles! Can't wait to get my first smartphone!

You cannot compare "sense" to "blur". Two totally different "add ons"

Likely the Bionic will not be a froyo phone anyway. I am not saying one phone is better than another. I am saying that you should make your own comparison when both phones have been "truly" released and optimized. Just sayin'

AAHHHHH. Verizon Wireless just called me. That's right, "Hi, it's time to renew your 2 year agreement, we can do that today. Tell me why you like your current phone."
ME: "I don't. I want the HTC Thunderbolt."
VZW: "Oh, let me see what I can find." type, type, type "That phone isn't available, but we have the x,y,z."
ME: "I want an HTC phone because I like their Sense UI."
VZW: "Well, I can give you a great deal on an HTC Incredible."
ME: "Why would I want a phone that's almost a year old when any day you're going to release a new HTC phone. I'll wait for the TBolt."
VZW: "Okay, well if you renew today I can give you 500 minutes of insurance for when you go over your plan minutes and those stay with you until you use them up."
ME: "You mean for my plan that gets me 450 minutes per month, of which I use about 20 minutes per month? No thanks. I'll use my renewal to get a better price on the TBolt."
VZW: "Well you can use your credit towards the new phone and renew your agreement today and get that insurance."
ME: "So you want me to use up my 2 year renewal today to get 500 minutes of insurance I don't need instead of saving it to take the price of my TBolt from around $750 to around $250 and instead use the measly $30 NE2 credit I have towards a $750 phone? No thank you, do NOT renew my contract today."
VZW: In a snarky tone of voice "Well thank you for being a Verizon Wireless customer."
ME: "Since 1993 and please don't forget that. I'm probably one of the few customers you've had for 18 years straight." :icon_evil:

I feel better. :)

just called local BB in Alexandria, VA - yes I pre-ordered - and they said tomorrow isn't going to happen, they have no idea of course when it might happen...bunch of bozos....

I don't even know what "overclocked" means. That's something you guys are going to have to teach me! Also I'm already sold on the TB. I like the look of the phone in comparison to the other phones. To me, it just looks more sophisticated when compared to the standard black glossy look of the others. Plus I like the interface. I had a HTC Pro when I was on Sprint, years ago and I really like how the weather and stuff looked on the phone as well as the messaging alert sounds it came with. I just absolutely hated the Windows operating system and the battery life was horrible and you couldn't buy a new battery cause it was built into the phone! It's the reason why I left Sprint (that phone is). But HTC has come a long way so I'm excited about this TB and will wait for it no matter what else they have down the pipe line I know this is the phone for me.

That's hilarious!! These corporations crack me up. They called me last week and tried to get me to upgrade to the iPhone. I just laughed and hung up on them!

Well there goes that idea. LOL

If I return it within 14 days do I have to trade it for a different phone? Or can I just return it and go back to my phone and erase the new commitment? I know I need to just be patient but if it isnt coming till the 21st I dont know if I can wait that long. This is KILLING me.

I hope it is some time in March, since it ain't 2-24. My storm 2 is running out of gas.

Hell, I wish I had even something as good as the Storm 2 to tide me over. I am really beginning to get tired of my enV Touch.

Believe it or not, your enV Touch IS better than the Storm 1 or 2! lol

... I was there, I had the Storm, I know :icon_eek:

I had a Storm 2, that phone is the reason I never want another BlackBerry. Ever. I got my D1 after I ditched that pile of poo. Now, my D1 is really sucking it up and I've been wanting to upgrade for a month, and almost got a Fascinate. But alas I am waiting, like an adult.

Exactly..be a grown up. Grown ups understand we don't always get what we want when we want it. Plus you want it to work properly when it is released or then all the posts will be about it being a piece of crap. It'll come out and when it does you'll be happy you waited for it.
