All I'm saying is that if BING is the only thing separating Droid from all the others then that's not enough for me to thing I have something special. I mean I hate BING anyway. I just think, even still, that Droid is a brand name only and that Droid phones are pretty much the same as other android phones. Maybe Microsoft has a deal with Motorola and that's why those phones have BING, which I think is more likely than it having BING because it's a Droid.

Hahahaha no way! My belief is a silent launch tomorrow and they announce it and advertise hard in a week after restocking
I hope so too but I doubt it. I'm using a BB Storm 2 so I'm really ready to upgrade. I've been eligible since December but I've been waiting for this phone! It will be my first Android device so I'm really anxious.
It could be because the guy I discussed this with yesterday was completely convinced that Droid means something other than it being on an Android OS. But this is also a guy that gets all his information from VZW reps at the stores! He is not tech minded at all and believes reps and commercials for his information. Not that I'm a total tech engineer or works in IT or anything but before I buy any electronic I thoroughly investigate it and even when I have something I like I always keep up with whats new from my favorite tech sites and so I feel I have a pretty good foundation of knowledge and in my investigations I haven't found anything to make me think there is anything necessarily special about an Droid over any other Android device. The differences always boil down to the specs, and things like BING..not the Droid accomplishing some amazing thing over any other Andriod OS phone. Just seems like its more manufactorer then anything else.

My upgrade is on the 26th! And I went from my 4th Moto Rival to my old enV 1! Perfect timing huh? All these old 3G phones about to reach EOL soon and no thunder forecast either!
Yes there is no difference, it's just whatever Verizon decides to bestow the name upon. No Droid has had Bing on it. The Samsung Fascinate had Bing but it was not labeled a Droid, it was just an Android powered phone
Well currently there is no 4G coverage in my area so I won't have that capability when I get this phone but all the other features will be great and have the latests in chips and 756 RAM speed of I'm convinced will make a HUGE difference. Which makes me eager to see CNETS prize fight on the TB vs. BIONIC to see if the dual core is really faster or if the extra RAM in the TB will compensate well as far as speed goes.

I almost have 4G. From CES videos the bionic looked slightly unresponsive, notmto mention Froyo isn't geared for dual core optimization. Oh and Isn't it supposed to have DDR2 RAM? Which seems better hardware wise and not size. But! HTC sense is way better than blur, and all the other bells and whistles! Can't wait to get my first smartphone!
Ok here's my thoughts to ponder. When the OG Droid first came out it was commercialized with a completely vague outline as to what it was ie; a new phone, without any specs. Then a more informative commercial was aired with a release date. The same holds true with the DX, same style. Now these were both Motorola phones, but advertised by Verizon. Seeing's how only vague commercials are out regarding the Thunderbolt, it's hard to believe they would break style. Also, it's odd that verizon would advertise the thunderbolt, on their site, with a field to enter your email address to be notified before it strikes, yet no one has confirmed getting an email with information. To me it seems like March 3 (Keeping with a Thursday release time frame) would be more logical, as only teaser information (as in TV marketing) has been released. Also with the lack of information provided to BB and retail Verizon stores, it makes more sense to get live products to them first, for demos and to familiarize themselves with the product. Just my $.05 cents. Now, i'm still hoping for a 24th release, but I haven't started counting my chickens just yet.

Anyways...been asking a girl I'm friends with that works at verizon everyday about the Tbolt....she never gave me a date, a rumor, etc....just said she didn't know. And that's the truth. I get a Gtalk from her today.... Ill quote it...She said...."your gonna be pissed. They pushed back the release of the thunderbolt. They don't want to release and inferior product and there is no confirmed date" I said are 110% sure....she said "my manager just told all of us"
so take it for what you will. I'm done with speculations, rumors etc. I trust her so know I'm just gonna wait around till the next phone comes out...droid x2, incredible 2, or the new lg....Don't care anymore about the tbolt...I'm just sick of my OG Droid at this point...Too many custom roms and my battery is **** after being overclocked so much just to keep up!

Exactly! Like all Cognac is Brandy but all brandies are not Cognac.
still think the TB will be better than the Bionic, if its the speed ur worried about, the 2nd gen 1ghz snapdragon processor kicks ass, and when i get my TB im going to overclock it and prob get speeds close to 1.3ghz
