How could production issues be a problem right now? Per the HTC CEO the phones have already been shipped (earlier in the week).

Ha! Good point. I didn't pay any attention to the source. Seems the track record of the various blogs and tech sites out there is woefully abysmal. Someone eventually gets it right mostly because every possible outcome and iteration is reported as rumor.

I was just at my local tire shop waiting for an oil change when I picked up todays paper to kill some time. In todays paper was next weeks Best Buy ad! I didnt know it was coming out today. Flipped through, and sure enough page 10....Thunderbolt! Cant wait!

The commercial is not on TV, along with the update on Verizons site.. ..

The commercial is being shown here in Arizona however it just says "coming soon". I still think it will be release on the 24th. There is an outside chance that if BB has the phone earlier (like the 21st) they MIGHT release it to the pre-orders early, but that is just a feeling I have. Our BB has the accessories on their shelves and they are setting up displays so if the release was pushed back I would think they would be pulling that stuff off the shelves.

Maybe the problem hasn't been the Thunderbolt. Maybe the problem is that Verizon hasn't settled on a 4G price yet. After all, how are going to sign a contract on a 4G device when there's no 4G plan yet?
