Howdy from the West Coast

I am a long time BB user and just bought my Motorola Razr from Verizon, 32gb and I have the unlimited plan.
So far its been impressive and appreciate how fast it processes. I am looking for ways to best manage, battery consumption, text notifications, add my own music as ringtones google files, and other rookie stuff. Also wondering if ICS is worth getting.
Any help or links are appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forum!!

An alternate SMS app such as GO SMS or Hancent will allow you to have popup notifications on your homescreen...they are also more customizable than the stock SMS app (remember to disable notifications in the stock app if you do download a 3rd party app from the market or you will get double notifications in the notification bar).

An app in the Play Store to make your own ringtones is Ringdroid - nice and easy to use...
