how to turn Pandora off

stupid me

New Member
Hello all. Look, got my droid yesterday. Some things are sraight forward but I have yet to find out how to turn Pandora off. I have been just shutting my phone down to stop the stream. I know there is a way to cut the stream without turning the whole phone off. Thanks

Menu softbutton should bring up a menu. If it's not there in the immediate options see if there's one that'll let you see more options. Worst case scenario you can kill it using the app manager, but I'd recommend saving that for a last resort.

Also, check the permissions Pandora is asking for. I don't like that it's looking at contact data, so I stopped using it.

I like Slacker, personally. I'm just afraid if I dig into it it'll ask for the same permissions. ;)

Push the pause/play toggle button in the app to stop the stream and then you can push the home button at the bottom of the phone. The app should then close.

Bring up pandora (not just the widget) and push menu softkey-there will be an option "quit".

I second this, I use it every morning and this is how I stop it.
You can also pause and switch apps like mentioned previously, but the app will wait a few minutes before closing

Best Shut Down Option = Works for Droid 2

I just bought a Droid 2 and was relieved to see this discussion thread.

Going to the Menu softkey while Pandora is playing did bring up a menu that offered the option to "quit" / a Full Stop and exit from the app.

To Pause and then hit the Home softkey option (also mentioned in this forum and what I tried first ) did not work for me because everytime I went back to Pandora, the song I ended on was still there, paused & waiting for me to resume.

Thanks Troops2990. I am going through a bit of a learning curve with the multi-use Droid 2 phone and appreciated your post.
