i believe you have to go back to 2.3.5 then root and the use a Root Keeper method then update to 2.3.6. I think thats what i did wrong in the first place because i lost my root when i upgraded. Im in the process of trying to upgrade rom to Gummy on my GSM

I just got a Motorola Droid Razr about a day ago, and I've been looking for root guides. My phone came with 2.3.6, but the system version is 6.12.181.XT912, and all of the root guides are for 6.12.173. I'm concerned that I will soft brick my phone and not have the proper recovery.

you can download a utility for restoring to 6.12.173. or just wait for someone to update the root. i just got a CLNR RAZR and i'm gunna restore it to 6.12.173. those are my suggestions though

Rooted Razor

Heres a crazy question.I rooted my Razor and it was doing just fine I have bootloader Titanium Backup and wifi teather and adfree , they all worked great ...and one day I was trying to tether and I couldn't so I tried to open all my other rooted apps and it keeps saying no root access.I didnt unroot the phone manually so how did it unroot itself? Does anyone know? or has anyone ever heard of this?

But when I rooted it it was at 2.3.6 and how do I do that? and what is a Root Keeper Method? Sorry I am trying to learn but its obvious I have a lot to learn about hacking and rooting...lol...
