How to override LED stock app?

Advice please...
I am not happy that the LED flashes every 4-5 seconds as I want to know if anything came in at a quick glance.
So I downloaded Light Manager. Set it up the way I want but the original LED settings is still the one that is working. How do I stop it and have the new app take over the LED activities...
Thanks...

BTW- Is there a better app to do this than Light Manager?

I am not sure if this will work because I haven't tryed it myself. In the main menu settings is a section labeled LED indicator. When you select that there are three options for you. They were all preselected in my S3. Uncheck them all and see if that helps.

I tried that but all it did was stop giving me notifications at all. Thanks though for the suggestion.
