how to fix bootlooping?

I was using my x, not doing anything unusual, and it decided to hard crash. no response from any buttons. I wait a while, to see if it will get out of it, and when it does not i take the battery out and reboot. now it just bootloops. anyone able to help?

edit: never mind. i figured out how to fix it myself.

for anyone who reads this, take the battery out and then boot holding both the power button and the home button. this boots into system recovery/safemode. then, hit search, restore factory settings (wipe data) then reboot.
