How to downgrade from GB

I'm sorry that it's not working for you. It sounds like you are following the steps correctly. I've done this several times using this method and it always goes completely painless. I'll do a search and see what I can find. If anyone else has a suggestion, feel free to jump in.

I did a quick search for that error message. Unless I am misunderstanding what I read, I'm not well versed in linux, it sounds like an issue with the Linux environment (the cd) itself. I always chose this method because of the ease and likelyhood of success, especially for people who are new to the whole process. This process will recover almost any type of crash, with the exception of a damaged bootloader.

I must ask you one question, though. When you boot from the cd are you making it to the screen where you have to choose one of the three options? Or does this message show up while the script is running?

It shows up while running script.
I never reach the screen where i get to choose 1,2 or 3.

i plug the phone into the pc while the pc is off & it is in bootloader before i plug it in.

Try this for "ha ha's". Boot from the cd, hit enter at Boot baby boot, but wait to plug the phone in until the script finishes. If you still get the message then we know where the issue is.

So I did it again for HaHa's and this is what happens everytime

this is where it stops.

OK, that's an issue with the environment set up by the scripts on the cd. I found this searching how to sbf as well and chose it because it was recommended by many. My first guess would be an issue with the download, as many people use and like this method. If you like, you can try to download it again and create a new cd. In the mean time I'm going to post in a different forum and link to this thread for some extra help.

Edit:

I created a post asking for help here:

I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Try this. put your DX in BootLoader but do not connect the USB till you get the option from on the screen.

Let us know how this works.

He' s not getting that far, the error message shows up while the script is running. (After boot baby boot but before the options show up)

I had try to load before connecting usb.

You can try that if you like. The worst thing that could happen is you'll make another cd that doesn't work for you.

I just checked my ram by right clicking on the "My Computer" icon, then Properties. it says i have 480MB of RAM.

I guess what I have to do now is to find out how to load the SBF file to a thumb drive and do it from my NetBook since its running 2G of RAM.

If you have access to another pc, you could try from there. If you do make sure you put all the zips on your sd card after sbf. Then you can continue to DSX without a pc. Just make sure you don't miss a step.
