How long does it take to receive Yahoo mail?

Will you be notified "instantly" or does it take a few minutes? I'm upgrading from a BB curve where I would be notified right away so I'm just wondering if the droid is the same. Thanks!

There are lots of threads on yahoo mail so a search would be a good idea. The quick answer is that a lot of people can't get yahoo to work at all, that yahoo plus (paid) does seem to work AFIK. Free yahoo does work for me and I get new mail notifications within a few minutes of receiving new mail.

Yahoo! Mail is not "Pushed" but in fact "pulled" so you will not get "instant" notification of new e-mails the way you would on an Exchange Server or even Gmail.

you can have your mail client check every 5 minutes (at least with IMAP, I do not have POP).

Take a look at this thread, it will guide you to set up Yahoo Mail (free version) to set up forwarding to a Gmail account. And also will show you how you can respond back by GMail but will appear that you have responded by yahoo

This needs emphasis. Search the existing threads if you count on Yahoo mail.
