ok so i just overclocked my droid to 800. im not sure what the phone was at on stock 2.1 as far as temp. mine reads anywhere from:

battery 89f-95f
OMAP3 temp 98f-117f (105+ is when im using it a lot)

are these in safe ranges? i just got my droid and dont want anything to happen to it haha

make sure you have at least the fail safe profile ckecked and set to scale it back to 550.
Keep the droid out of direct sunlight. And when using nav app, especially in the summer, I recommend scaling it back to 550.

Truthfully, I'm still in the same boat as you...

I'm running CM 5602 (overclocked to 800) with DropTheme and getting temps around 115-120 at full usage. I'm desperately trying to find a way to keep it cooler!!!!

140f is when you should start scaling down IMO. The OMAP processor is rated for a max temp of about 220F (from TI, look it up if you dont believe me) but thats like the melt down point and you probably shouldnt keep it above 140 or 150 for sustained periods of time. Ive had mine up to 178F for a few minutes, twice, with no lasting ill effects.
