Running a rooted .902 Bionic with the Eclipse v2.1 rom. Everything ok except I want to use Quickpix insted of the default Gallery. For some reason, I have 2 versions showing up in my applications, v2.3.3 and v1.1.30682. They contain over 2000 .jpgs and videos that I want to delete but I don't know how to "get at them". Help :p

Your pictures/videos are not stored in Gallery. They are either on your sdcard-ext/dcim/camera, or on sdcard/dcim/camera. They are just files that can be deleted once you determine if you saved them on external memory card sdcard-ext or on internal memory sdcard. You can use Quickpix instead of the default Gallery, but you have to launch Quickpix separately. It will still find all your pics/vids.

Just to add to that; in case you've put your own pictures and videos in different folders, Quickpix will find them too.

thanks for the replies. After formatting the sdcard and still finding the media files intact, I tried Titanium and un-installed the 2 Apks there.....Worked!......go figure......:icon_eek:

One thing to watch out for -- if you use the default camera and try to view a pic you've just taken, it will try to use the Gallery and fail. Unfortunately it's not smart enough to just use QuickPic instead. I ended up defrosting it for that reason, although I still have QuickPic as the default app for viewing pictures.

Yup.....I noticed that. Not too happy with the default camera anyway, is there a better one out there?

When people ask for another camera app, one of the first ones mentioned is Camera Zoom FX. Either that or Vignette.

I use Camera Zoom FX myself as it has a lot of options. There's also HDR Camera apps that takes fantastic pictures, but it's designed for still life, like landscapes. It takes 4 pictures, going over & under exposed and does a composite.

For fun, there's Paper Camera. It's designed to do special effects (like neon or sketching) in real time. They've just added a movie option.
