Help With Connecting To Computer

I have Windows 7 and the phone connects, then disconnects. I put the phone on media sync then My HTC Phone shows up. Then it doesn't show up. I get CD drive Verizon Mobile I tried researching this found nothing similar

if you're talking about pulling pics off your phone and putting them on your computer, i've had some problems with this working as well. what i usually do is go to settings/connect to pc/ default connection type/ media sync. usually if you do this before you connect the phone to the computer then it should recognize your phone. doesn't always work for me though. if it does work you go you "my computer" and you it should show a drive titled "my htc phone", or something similar and should show a pic of a phone looking thing

Here is some stuff posted on another thread. but go into connect to pc in settings, checkmark ask me, then when plug in, select disk drive, if error box comes up can't find drive....here's some stuff I did to stop that and allowed access to sd card...no I reformatted the card cause I was doubting there were that many damn folders on the sd card, but there are, photos are under DCIM Ffolder....

Ok I fianlly found something that at least allows me to say "Disk Drive" when I plug in and that useless CD drive does not try to Mount now. Since I was able to copy all files off that drive to a thumb drive I see no more use for it, assuming eats up your space on the phone itself anyways..here's what I did. If there is a built in CD drive you will see the option in Device Manager, but on a netbook you would have to plug in whatever is being seen as a CD drive to do this, so once plugged in I got the Gray No diskdrive found box, could not get rid of, so went around behind and made the change.

I've found a work around that at least stops the annoying attempt to install the v-cast drivers. I went into the device manager and disabled the cd/dvd associated with the HTC Android Phone USB Device. So far it hasn't returned."

Thanks for the responses. The first time I ever tried to set it as disk drive nothing showed up. I played around with it a lil bit and its good now
