Helix vs Home++

Download an application from the market called Apps Manager. Basically it allows you to "tag" each of your applications with a label; Email, Internet, Tools, etc... And you can make up your own to suit your needs.

Once you've done that, you can create a shortcut on your desktop that links directly to that tag, much like you can with the stock Droid folders. Drag that shortcut down into the Helix launcher, and presto... You have a multi-level launcher.

Do you mean App Manager by Amazing Droid? That's the closest one I could find in the market by name, but the description of the app didn't mention anything about tags, and I couldn't find any others that did.

I had been running GDE since I recieved my phone then decided to try Helix. I noticed that my battery did not last as long running Helix. Lasts much longer running GDE. Anyone else notice this?

I use neither. The only thing I really miss is the docked icons which should have been built into the OS. I find that battery life is atrocious on the Droid and try to keep this at a minimum. When I used them, Pandahome was pretty good but Helix was impressive. I like HOme++ dock.

I too had too many FCs on Home++ and it was also compromising overall performance so I uninstalled it the other day. Waiting on 2.1 before I give Helix a try.

That sounds right. I don't think "Tag" is the right word... The app probably calls it label. The concept is the same though.

After 2.1 you'll be waiting for a new version of Helix. I hear Helix2 is not liking 2.1 update 1 too much.

I've noticed no real difference and GDE is my only other non-stock Home. I'll have to check it and see what happens to my battery.

I am a DNA guy, yeah helix is sick. Home ++ had WAY TO MANY FORCE CLOSES. I have used them both allot, and helix and home ++ have one thing different...helix = no FC,s while Home ++ will hit you with them. Helix = way more reliable IMHO

Running stock vs Helix, I have noticed no battery difference. Even live wallpapers don't impact the droid to much. I do manage GPS and brightness though...
