Hasoon2000 has released his toolkit for the AT&T HTC One. It appears that his PermRoot option in the toolkit will in fact permroot the device. Some folks were reporting problems with using the toolkit to unlock the bootloader, and it may be easier to obtain an unlocked bootloader by heading to HTCdev.com. The toolkit also has options to install custom recoveries including Clockworkmod, Clockworkmod touch and your own Recovery image. There are plenty of other commands and options included as well.
Big Red has still not announced a new HTC device. Some have reported that Verizon will get the HTC One while others are reporting that we are more likely to see an updated Droid DNA. Either way it would be very nice to see Verizon choose to not lock down their HTC device and follow the footsteps of AT&T and every other carrier. That is more than likely a long shot though!
