handcent - full screen "widget"?

Hi Folks:

Now using handcent for msgng. I have the "icon" (shortcut) on my main screen and I'm getting notifications.

I'd like to use a blank screen to display a full screen of handcent msgs...like the default msg page was when the Eris started up - a default htc/android setting I guess.

I have made handscent the default msg program.

You can still use the HTC Message widget even if you have Handcent as the default messaging program. Just go to Add Widget > HTC > Messages.

Another alternative is a program called Pure Messenger Widget, I really like it because it gives me more screen real estate. But yet its not as fancy as the HTC messenger widget

Think I need to uninstall / install handcent to get it to work? how to do that.

What about "rooting"... not sure what that really is...if it would help....and don't know how to do it.

Hopefully .... I'd like to keep it as simple as possible,

Sorry but rooting isn't possible with the HTC Eris just yet...

You shouldn't need to uninstall/reinstall anything for it to work.
