I am new to the forum. I have been reading a few posts here from time to time since I got my Eris. Started out on 1.5 and Got the OTA 2.1 a couple months ago but I am wanting to add some new features to my Eris but it seems that they all require Rooting the unit.

Everywhere I look, I see the instructions for updating from 1.5 to 2.1 rooted. I am looking for a walkthrough for rooting my OTA 2.1 and how to back it up first. In case I ever need to go back to my 2.1 OTA.

If anyone would be kind enough to point me to a good link for soing this, it would be much appreciated. I am an above average skill user so I dont need a dumbed down version lol.. just someone's previous technique that is proven to work.. heheheh

Welcome! If you are going to root prepare by reading through the information several times. If you are unsure or have questions post them. If you decide to root and have any issues someone will be here to assist.
